W does not have Cancer. She however does have osteoarthritis of the hip which can show up the same as cancer in a basic xray. He never should have mentioned the cancer until after the MRI. We are greatly relieved and want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

I can’t believe how quickly doctors are ready to tell you the “worst case” of what it could be. I think they are trained to do this so any other news is a relief.

I had stress fractures in my lower spine several years ago. I had a series of MRIs at the same time my sister was recovering from cancer surgery (cervical). The othropedic surgeon was convinced that he was looking at cysts and told me to have them biopied immediately. Needless to say, I got a second opinion and the second doc was flabbergasted at what the first doc told me.

Needless to say, the result was 3 months of physical therapy instead of the unthinkable.
Way to scare a 20 year old in the middle of college finals.
